This soup is one of the most popular soup in Nigeria as is being sold in many restaurant because of the delicious taste of the soup. Palm oil soup is good in the body and it contains fat and oil and that's the reason many people loves it. Now I know many people do not know how to prepare this soup, and many may say palm oil soup is stressful. But the truth is that, palm oil soup is not stressful as you may think. In this article, I will be teaching you how to prepare palm oil soup. All you need to do is to have your palm oil spices, which you can get in the market, your pepper, maggi, salt, fish, meat, stock fish, cray fish. Some people might be asking, what of your oil, well you don't actually need oil because you are cooking palm oil, so there is a lot of oil already in the soup.

 PROCEDURE'S

Now let's start the cooking. First of all, rinse your palm oil seed with water, so as to remove sand, then put the seed in a pot of water on fire (Stove, gas or electric cooker), leave it to boil for like 30 minutes depending on the kind of fire you are using. After boiling, take the seed and pour it on a mortar and pound, after pounding squeeze the liquid substance coming out from the seed inside a pot and put the pot on fire, add your palm oil spices you got from the market and leave it to boil a little so as to make it thick. After boiling a little, add your fish, meat, stock fish, salt, and crayfish, let it boil a little, and then turn it all together with a spoon and let it boil for some time. Soup is ready. You can now enjoy it with wheat, cassava, and starch. Now that you know how to prepare palm oil soup, do you also know that you can prepare palm oil soup in other ways like adding vegetables to it which can turn it to palm oil black soup.

Black soup: well, black soup is also popular in Nigeria especially in Edo state, and some other states in Nigeria. It is mainly eaten with starch and pounded yam. To prepare palm oil black soup is not hard, all you need is to buy the necessary ingredients needed.

Procedure:

Take your bitter leaf, pumpkin leaf,  and other vegetable leaf that you would like to use, rinse them and grind them with your pepper, and crayfish. After boing your palm oil as explained above, make sure you don't put any palm oil spices. Take the vegetables you have grind and pour it inside the palm oil on fire, and then put your maggi, salt, meat and fish in it, leave it to boil for some minutes like (20 minutes) and then turn it together and let it boil a little. That's all your palm oil black soup is ready to enjoy.
